Who we are
Founded in 2014, Progressive English is still a relatively young company. I consider this an enormous strength. It is my determined effort, that we stay a ‘young company,’ even when we have been around for thirty years! Young companies have drive, and ambition, and passion to do something better than it’s ever been done, to constantly improve; these are qualities which I never want to abandon.
At present, we have ten incredible teachers, all native speakers of English, and all of whom possess full Cambridge university certification to teach English as a second language. All of the current teachers have been carefully selected, not only for their linguistic abilities, their nature, and their dedication to students, but because they share my mission statement for Progressive English: “To dramatically improve our client’s English skills, in the most efficient way, and for the client to enjoy the process”
This is what we have been doing for the last 5 years, and every day for the last 5 years I’ve been asking myself, and all of our team, how we can do it better. Our overriding objective is excellence, or more precisely, constant improvement, a superb and constantly improving company in all respects.

Travis has exceeded my expectations, and has given me much confidence in my verbal and written communications. He has a real skill in reducing lessons to their main point (his cheat sheets are brilliant), and teaches in a very practical way. When I moved to Zurich from Italy, I was looking for an English teacher because I needed to learn an international language for communicating in the new country. In addition, despite using my mother language during the clinical interviews, learning English was important for international works and collaborations. I had never studied systematically English, so I started from a low level. In a few months my English has improved a lot: I was very surprised about how I became able to write and speak English in formal and informal conversations, and now I am not afraid when another person doesn’t speak my language. I studied with Miles and I can tell that he is a very good teacher, capable of motivating me and reinforcing and supporting me in spite of my mistakes. At the start, I planned to study only two months, but, seeing the amazing results, after five months I still study with Progressive English!
